Restore your Recent Documents entries….
June 27th, 2008For Windows XP:
Right-click the Taskbar (the area next to the Start button – don’t right-click the Start button itself) and select Properties.
Click on the Start Menu tab, then Customize. Click the Advanced tab. At the bottom of the dialogue box, tick the box marked ‘List my most recently opened documents’. Click OK, then OK again.

For Windows Vista:
Right-click the Taskbar (the area next to the Start button – don’t right-click the Start button itself) and select Properties.
Click on the Start Menu tab. At the bottom of the dialogue box, tick the box marked ‘Store and display a list of recently opened files’. Click OK, then OK again.
If you don't want your recently opened files to appear, just uncheck those boxes instead of checking them.
