This sample uses the dialup internet service at ErieNet which is a Christian Email Service that we highly recommend. Their website is located at http://ErieNet.Net .

Step 1: Start the Internet Connection Wizard.

Press the Start (START) button, select Run... , type in inetwiz and click OK.

The Internet Connection Wizard will appear, click the option button next to Connect using my phoneline and click Next .

If you have an existing dial-up connection a page will be displayed asking if you would like to create a new or use an existing connection.  Choose to Create a new dial-up connection and click Next .

Uncheck the Use area code and dialing rules option and enter your preferred access number for the Telephone number.

Please note: If you have call waiting on your phone line, add either 70#, or *70, before our modem.
You may need to refer to your telephone book to find the proper code as each telephone company is different.

Click OK , then click Next .

In the "Internet Account Logon Information" screen, enter your username@erienet.net and password.

Example: howard@erienet.net

(NOTE: your username must be entered in lower case (small) letters and NO spaces)

Click Next .

Type in "Erienet" for the connection name and click Next .

In the screen "Set Up Your Internet Mail Account" choose No .

Click Next , then Finish.

Step 2: Create a shortcut.

Click Start, Settings, Network and Dial-up  Connections

RIGHT-click on the Erienet icon and choose create shortcut.

You should get a warning box, just click Yes , this will create a shortcut to Erienet on your Desktop.

Close all open windows.

Step 3: Connecting.


To connect to the Internet, simply double-click on the Shortcut to Erienet icon on your desktop and click dial.
